The Opportunity

The Tourism Ground Transportation subsector is facing increased competition as leading companies in the hospitality industry pursue vertical integration strategies. There are projections for growth in tourist arrivals in 1996 and beyond. To support anticipated increases in visitor traffic, the Government of Saint Lucia is redeveloping Hewanorra Airport.

In response to changing market conditions and heightened competition, the Southern Taxi Association (STA) is participating in the pilot Hospitality Assured Certification Program administered by CTO/CDB. This program emphasizes customer service, employee development, and stakeholder engagement to achieve excellence in service delivery and optimize business performance.
